About the Mouth Fruit blog

This blog contains information about fruitful dialogue.

Welcome

Oh, do come in. Come.

Pull up a chair. The stove is warm, and there is much to discuss. This work—learning to speak truly and well—is not for the faint of heart. It requires courage to examine how we communicate, patience to practice difficult skills. But you need not walk this road alone. Here, we work together, away from today's battles. Here, you may stumble without falling.

Here, you are safe.

Commenting

We talk about how to engage in fruitful dialogue and the basis for the tools and skills to do that. However, this is not the place to air your opinion on controversial topics.

Good discussion is polite; be careful with your words. Challenge me! Disagree with commenters! But, as a guest of Mouth Fruit, please control your tongue. Mouth Fruit is a welcoming place where we can all sit by the stove and chat. You are welcome here.

If you would like to comment, simply sign up. There is no newsletter.

No newsletter

Sorry, there is no email newsletter. There is not even a reminder of new post emailed to you. It is up to you to check here before each time you go out to correct the world.

For notifications, some people use an RSS feed reader (Feedly, Inoreader, The Old Reader), a browser extension (Distill Web Monitor, Visualping, ChangeTower) or a web service (Visualping, ChangeTower, Distill.io, Wachete). Mouth Fruit has no opinion here; try one like Feedly and see how it works. The Mouth Fruit home page, mouthfruit.com, will change when there are new posts. The announcement banner on that page might indicate when there are major or important changes to the content of a post, typically when original content includes gross errors, insensitive wording, or material that is impossible to understand—all rare, one hopes.

Language of presentation

This blog is written in English, today's lingua franca of the globe. Mouth Fruit uses other languages to illustrate the interaction of language and fruitful dialog, including the newly discovered language mika (MEE-kah) which is amazingly perfect for this.

But, which English? Posts will be in a mix of International English and American English. The goal is to be clear worldwide.

Unsure about your English in commenting? Comment in a language you are comfortable in. Politely.
